Use of face masks becomes mandatory in airports and aircraft

According to Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) Resolution No. 761, the use of face masks becomes mandatory inside airport terminals, means of transportation and other establishments located in the airport area, as of 25/11/2022.


The use of masks will be mandatory on the "Air Side" (from the X-ray): where there is access control to aircraft handling areas, employee and/or vehicle access control gates, departure and arrival lounges, restricted area establishments, courtyard and transportation vehicles.


The equipment will be dispensed with in the case of people with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, sensory disabilities or any other disabilities that prevent the proper use of a face mask, according to a medical statement, which can be obtained digitally.


The use of certain masks is prohibited, including: acrylic or plastic masks; masks equipped with exhalation valves, including N95 and PFF2; scarves, cloth bandanas or any other material that is not characterized as a protective mask for professional or non-professional use; face shields alone; protective masks for non-professional use made with only one layer or that do not comply with the minimum requirements set out in ABNT PR 1002 - Guide to basic requirements for testing methods, manufacture and use.
