Fraport Brasil and Aerolíneas Argentinas celebrate new route between Porto Alegre and Punta del Este at event

Flight to be inaugurated on December 26

The new route between Porto Alegre and Punta del Este, Uruguay, was celebrated by Fraport Brasil and Aerolíneas Argentinas during an event on Thursday (06/11). The activity took place this morning at the Deville Prime Hotel in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and was aimed at tour operators and agencies.

Flights to Punta will take place on Fridays and Saturdays, always in the morning. The first leg is scheduled for December 26. The route is scheduled to run until January 31, 2016, but may be renewed.

The Uruguayan city is a popular destination for people from Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. It is the ideal destination for those who want to enjoy beaches and parties, with casinos, museums and restaurants.

Traveling with Aerolíneas
This is the second destination operated by the airline from Porto Alegre Airport: Aerolíneas also offers flights to Aeroparque Airport (AEP), in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Fraport Brasil's Commercial Aviation Manager, Pedro Navega, celebrates the success of the partnership:
"We are extremely happy with the new route, which restores our connection with Uruguay. This moment represents an important milestone: it is the first time that Aerolineas Argentinas has flown from Porto Alegre to two different destinations, in a partnership that we hope will last for a long time," said Navega.

Aerolíneas' commercial manager in Brazil, Ivan Cadahia, also points out that the company also operates flights to and from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Cabo Frio, Salvador and Porto Seguro, offering direct connections between the main tourist destinations in Brazil and various points in Argentina, through regular and seasonal services.

"Brazil is our most important international market," said Cadahia.

In addition to Fraport Brasil, the event was also attended by members of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Enjoy Punta del Este Resort y Casino and the Porto Alegre Convention. The Consul of Uruguay, Marión Daniela Blanco Espino, and the Secretary of Tourism of RS, Ronaldo Santini, were also present. Enjoy raffled off hotel nights and Aerolíneas raffled off gifts among the participants.
