Fraport Brasil clarifies that the information circulating in the press about a reopening date for Porto Alegre airport is not valid and reiterates that the NOTAM (Notice to Airman) issued on 5/6 remains valid until May 30th. The concessionaire also informs that operations at Porto Alegre Airport remain suspended indefinitely. We currently do not have an estimate of the damage caused by the flood. After the waters subside, we will be able to assess in detail the impacts on the airport infrastructure
It is worth mentioning that we are working to enable commercial flights (for passengers and cargo), on a smaller scale, from the Canoas Air Base. At the moment, Fraport Brasil has received authorization to operate five daily flights.
